A giant of a shrub, the evergreen tea “tree” can reach a grand 19 feet in height while being nearly that same size (13 feet) in width. It produces a small, fuzzy white flower in June. Oddly, in spite of its name, this is not the plant from which the leaves we use for making drinkable tea are taken. The leaves from the tea tree contain an essential oil used only for medicinal purposes.

It is known primarily as an antiseptic and will assist in the treatment of wounds, cuts, burns, stings and skin infections of all types. As a highly effective and all natural germicide, it is believed to warrant a place in the medicine cabinet of every home.
