The tea plant is an evergreen shrub that boasts of dark, green leaves and delicate white flowers. Though slow growing, it will reach a majestic height of 13 feet and is 8 feet wide when mature. Tea leaves are commonly used for brewing in many parts of the world. Green tea leaves are acquired when the leaves are steamed and dried while black tea is acquired from the same leaves being fermented and dried. The leaves of the tea plant are also used as flavoring in alcoholic drinks, frozen dairy desserts, candy, baked goods, gelatin and puddings.
