The cucumber is a climbing plant that will wend its way around trellises and frames as it grows. It reaches 6 feet 7 inches tall and is very attractive with its large leaves, golden flowers and rich, succulent fruit. 3 varieties of cucumber can be found, 1 of which grows only in greenhouses and 2 of which that can be found in outdoor beds.

Many parts of the plant can be used. Young leaves and stems are used as herbs while the fruit is used in beauty products and food, primarily salads. It also has a seed that is quite rich in oil and has a nice flavor. This is used less often, however, since the seeds are difficult to obtain.
